Upgrade of the Endoscopy Department
Thanks to the support of the firm Karl Storz in Tuttlingen, especially of Mrs. Dr. hc. mult. Sybill Storz and the Health Resort Bad Häring in Tyrol we were able to provide St. Francis Hospital with modern endoscopes.
Dr. Gerhard Kunit from Salzburg put the cystoscopy device of Karl Storz Company into operation and instructed the hospital team. The plant meets all modern demands and is especially important for Ifakara for there are many patients with urethra strictures.
The Health resort Bad Häring in Tyrol donated us a not completely new, but unused Gastroscopy and Colostomy Unit with all the necessary accessories. The Klaffenböck Comp. tested the devices and found them in perfect working condition. Dr. Klaus Schwamberger from Salzburg assembled the plant, put it into operation and instructed the hospital personnel.
On behalf of our association Christine Schennach handed the Endoscopy devices over to Dr. Angelo Nyamtema and Fr. Cletus Uhinga.
