Fresh water for St. Francis Hospital
The old wells don't deliver enough water any longer. Several times the water supply for the hospital has broken down.
Following a request for help, our association, together with the hospital management, decided to finance a new borehole. Drilling and Dam Construction Agency from Dar es Salaam drilled a borehole to a depth of 100m in a very short time. The team of the hospital workshop installed the pump, the security fence, the pipes leading to the hospital and the electric plant providing the pump with electricity. The borehole delivers now 18.000 l of fresh water per hour, thus relieving acute lack of water. But an urgent task remains to be performed: Drilling another borehole, renewal of the 3 old boreholes and building a bigger water reservoir.
