St. Francis University College for Health and Allied Sciences (SFUCHAS)
For several years, efforts have been made to further develop the hospital to a Medical Faculty of St. Augustine University in Mwanza.
The good news is that these efforts have meanwhile become reality. On December 1, 2010, Rt. Rev. Bishop Agapit Ndorobo celebrated in a Holy Mass the promotion of the hospital to
St. Francis University College of Health and allied Sciences (SFUCHAS).
This act is also of great importance for the State of Tanzania because the new faculty will certainly alleviate the grave lack of doctors, but will be at the same time a great challenge both for the hospital and the Diocese of Ifakara.
