St. Francis University College of Health and Allied Sciences (SFUCHAS)
For several years efforts have been under way to make St. Francis Hospital a Medical Faculty of St. Augustine University in Mwanza. It is good news that these efforts have been just crowned with success.
On 29/11/2010 Rt.Rev. Bishop Agapit Ndorobo celebrated in a holy mass the appointment of the hospital to St. Francis University College of Health and Allied Sciences (SFUCHAS). This fact is of the greatest importance also for the country of Tanzania for this new faculty will certainly contribute to alleviate the serious lack of doctors, above all in rural areas. At the same time it is a huge challenge for the hospital and the Diocese of Ifakara.
